DVD Loader, one of DVS Korea’s key products, is the DVD operator mounting on the DVD player for home use. It is similar to DVD-ROM drive in playing DVD DISC. However, DVD loader is mainly for playing digital movie or music video and audio for home use, while DVD-ROM is designed to run the digital data, audio and video. DVD is capable of handling large volume of media, presents the video quality on par with LD or higher, as well as clear, stereo sound (5.1 channels). Powerful user interactivity helped DVD’s to establish the fame as a “Dream media.” DVD title can store up to 4.7GB on one side, which is 7.2 times more than regular CD. If DVD is double-layered, it can hold up to 26 times more data than CD, which is equivalent to 8-hour long movie. DVD uses MPEG 2 the technology to compress video and audio files to produce the video with 500 lines of flat screen resolution. As a reference, the flat screen resolution with VCR and VCD is 240 line and LD, known for high resolution, has the screen resolution of 420 line. DVD loader supports 5.1 channels of dolbi stereo sound, as well as producing 6 different sounds. With DVD Player, DVD title projects 32 languages in subtitles and carries the recording in 8 languages. However, it is full capacity and it is very rare that DVD is used up to the full. Most DVD titles take in character types and languages of choice selected by users. DVD allows users to select the rating of movies and edits out the parts that are beyond the permissible parameter of a certain rating. As an example, if you set the “Underage not allowed” rating for a movie, DVD deletes violent or sexually explicit scenes deemed inappropriate in light of a specific rating. The greater extent of interactivity with users in DVD is thanks to the large memory capacity. DVD loader prompts the compressed data to initiate the interactive functions. Users can have their choice of MPEG chipset to mount on DVD loader. The Pin-To-Pin Connecting method renders the MPEG chipsets replaceable.
